Wow it has been a long time since I've blogged! I think the facebook world has a lot to do with that. Sorry! I'll try to be better at that. But for now...

Meet Courtney & Ryan. They are cute as can be and are getting married on April 20th. I love couples that know exactly where they want to do their photoshoot...and it's even better when it's their own property :o) They have a huge barn on their property where we did their session and where they will also have their wedding. The lighting was perfect and I love all of these pictures. They even got their sweet puppy Rex involved.

Austen {8 months}

Austen is a precious little 8 month old. He has a sweet smile and loves to watch his big brother. He just learned to pull up on things and loves to stand. He didn't want much to do with the camera but I was able to catch a few keepers :o)

7 month olds are so much fun! My good friend Shelley brought her sweet baby Allie over the other morning just for some fun shots. I think we accomplished that :o) Allie looks so much like her daddy and she loves to stick her tongue out lol

Maggie + Brandon {I Do}

Maggie and Brandon were married on June 18th on a very HOT summer day. I spent the entire day with the girls and I do think they were my favorite group of girls that I've been with so far. They were all so different from each other but they all meshed well. Anyways...Maggie's theme was hot pink and black which I LOVE! Loved all the details and the girls' dresses. The day was beautiful minus the nice storm we had during the ceremony. Seriously though...the bottom dropped out of the sky as soon as we got Maggie into the church and then it stopped by the time we had finished with family/group pictures :o) The reception was so much fun....I love dancing. Although I do choose not to break it down while working, I love to watch other people have fun lol

Maggie & Brandon...you guys are awesome. Thank you so much for choosing us to be your photographers. I wish you lots of love and we'd love to hang out with you guys sometime!

I'll shut up now....on to the good stuff. I LOVE ring shots...they are my favorite detail shots

I love the trio of pics below. Maggie's dad saw her for the first time and he let his emotions show while in the second picture, I can just hear Maggie saying "no....you cannot cry! You're going to make me cry!" That's just what I get from the pictures because Darren took these, not me lol

I love that they included Brandon's son (& now Maggie's), Nathan, in the sand ceremony

I lost control of the group just a bit..."everyone crowd around Maggie & Brandon" translated into "dogpile"...Allison was the only one that seemed a little scared of the outcome lol

Maggie got married last Saturday so I can FINALLY share her bridal portraits :o) I just have to say...I love Maggie! She is one of the sweetest, easy going people that I've had the privilege to meet and work with. She is beautiful inside and out as you will see in these pictures. I always get really excited when I am contacted about doing pictures of a client with their dog. They are always a lot of fun and I think everyone should do it! Ashley and Jazzy did not disappoint. Jazzy was the most laid back dog....literally...she would just plop down wherever we were...quite funny actually. We had a great time with them despite the heat :o) I had a really hard time picking out which ones I wanted to put up...I loved a lot of them! I forgot how much I loved the simplicity of a regular fun session...I want to do more asap!

Brittany and Daniel were married on May 7th at the Red Fez Club on Lake Wylie. It was a beautiful day and we were definitely blessed with a nice breeze. The lake is a special location to both Brittany and Daniel and I love that they were able to incorporate that into the background of their ceremony.

Megan + Dustin {I Do}

Megan & Dustin were married on April 30th at Asbury Park Grove. It was a beautiful day. The girls started the day off by getting their hair and makeup done at the mall and then we headed over to the venue to hide out until time for the ceremony. The ceremony was short and sweet then everyone enjoyed a yummy dinner. After everything was said and done, Megan & Dustin took off towards Florida to board their honeymoon cruise.

Megan & Dustin...thanks so much for inviting us to document your wedding day. We had a great time and we wish nothing but the best for the two of you.

Amanda and Kevin were married two Saturdays ago on what turned out to be a gorgeous day. We were all a little worried when we traveled through what seemed like a monsoon but the clouds quickly went away and left us with beautiful blue skies :o)

I love how they incorporated little pieces of themselves into their day. Kevin is a fireman so they brought out a fire truck just for them! And...Amanda loves children and invited all the children she has babysat...they were too cute on the dance floor.

Shannon and Bill were married on March 26th and if what they say is true about rain on your wedding day being good luck...these two are the luckiest of them all :o) But despite the rain, their day was beautiful because it was all about them. The wedding party got ready at the Omni Hotel downtown Charlotte. The hair and make-up stylists did an awesome job on the girls. Then the trendy Pewter Rose was packed out with friends and family. Overall, the day was a lot of fun.

We met Megan and Dustin EARLY on Saturday morning on a typical spring day in the Carolinas. You know the days...bone chilling cold in the morning but shorts and flip flops weather in the afternoon. Yeh...brr. But these guys were kind enough to tough it out for us :o) They will be getting married on April 30th and we are very excited to shoot their wedding!

Grace+Josh {Engaged}

Grace and Josh will be getting married in less than a month from now! I'm super excited :o) Josh and I have known each other forever so being able to capture his wedding to a woman he adores is very special to me...so thanks guys! Anyways...we certainly did not pick the best day, location, or time for this engagement session so we were faced with many challenges. One would be the rain. Then the fact that uptown was major chaos. Then it was just really dark and dreary and well...we lost light super fast. We had to get a little creative but I will say that shooting at night is not going to be a friend that I keep around lol I think we were able to capture some cute shots...

Casey {2012 Senior Rep}

Meet Casey. She's our senior rep from Weddington High School and well...she's pretty much stunning. We had a great time on our mini session and can't wait for round 2 when she teams up with her best friend, Katia...our senior rep from Sun Valley High :o) We made her dance and do weird things but I won't embarrass her by putting them on here....THIS TIME! lol Well...without further ado...here's Casey.

I'm so excited to reveal our new branding! A few months ago, I contacted Leah at Go4Pro Photos. I'm so glad that I did. She did such an awesome job and was amazingly patient and helpful. I was probably a designer's nightmare because I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted. I'm thrilled with the results of our many emails back and forth :o) Photographers....if you need some help with branding...Leah is the one to contact! I took some pictures below of a few items I've had printed so far but keep in mind, I'm definitely not a product photographer haha

Hannah {College Senior}

Meet Hannah. Hannah was quite the trooper to brave the elements with us this weekend. I'm so glad she did because she's a beautiful girl and great fun to be around. This May, Hannah will be graduating the nursing program at Liberty University. All the nursing students burn their uniforms after graduation! haha So Hannah's parents wanted to make sure to get pictures of Hannah wearing her nursing uniform before it was sent up in flames :o)

Allison {Newborn}

Sweet lil' Allie decided to make her grand entrance into the world on Christmas Day. She brought quite the shock to everyone when her daddy announced that "It's a girl!". Everyone (minus one or two) thought for sure she was going to be a boy! I even special ordered a couple boy hats to use for the newborn session so I would be ready haha She showed us that's for sure. She is a sweet lil' thing too...and probably the most wide awake alert newborn I've ever experienced lol ok ok...enough talk....

Shelley + Paul {Maternity}

I've had the honor of knowing and being good friends with Shelley since high school. I was in her wedding...she was my maid of honor. We go way back :o) So being able to see her in her mommy-to-be status has been awesome. I can't wait to meet her little miracle. Shelley and Paul decided not to find whether the baby is a girl or a boy...so it's going to be a big surprise! (I've been thinking boy from the beginning though)

I can't help but laugh when I do a photo shoot with a toddler. They can be SO serious with their beautiful big eyes and you just know they are looking at you like "I'm not quite sure about you just yet..." Carter was no exception to this but when his mom started doing the hokey pokey for him, it made me smile almost as much as it did him :o)

We did Maggie and Brandon's engagement session this past weekend. It was a lot of fun. We love our clients who are willing to do the things we ask...like dancing in the middle of the street. How could we have not asked them to dance?? Downtown Monroe graced us with oldies music playing from a speaker on the street corner :o) Anyway! Maggie and Brandon are getting married next June and we can't wait...it's definitely going to be a fun party!

What do photographers do for fun? Well....we take pictures...of course :o) I've been wanting to test the light in my house for some "mock" studio shots for a while now...just to see if it was something I wanted to pursue. So my photog friend, Kristen, brought her sweet, adorable baby Lilah over to play. She was a trooper as we switched hats and repeatedly called her name in effort to get some eye contact. I love this age....hands in mouth and all :o)

Alyssa {Newborn}

Kristy is one of my closest friends (since high school) and I was absolutely thrilled when she called to tell me she was pregnant back in February :o) Last Saturday, sweet lil' Alyssa made her grand entry into this world and everyone is so happy to have her here.

We had a great time with Shannon & Bill last Saturday. The lighting was awesome and I love all the pictures we got. I always love the colors in the fall...however, I also changed most of these to black and white and had a hard time choosing which ones to show :o) But that's always the best "problem" to have! Kinsley {Newborn}

I knew Kinsley was going to be a beautiful baby...and I was definitely right :o) She didn't want anything to do with us on our first shoot so we called it a day. We came back a few days later and she was perfect! I really don't even know if I can pick out just one favorite so I may have a few on here.

I LOVE detail shots of newborns....they are only this little for so long. This is my favorite detail shot to date I believe :o)

We always have a great time with our seniors. They are just so fun and carefree....and most of the time quite giggly :o) Funny thing is...with the giggly ones (like :cough cough: Andrea), I like the serious face pictures the best. Not sure why it works out that way but some of these are just so very soulful...maybe that's why I like them.

Moving on...meet Andrea :o) Andrea is a fun and very sweet girl. She's a senior this year (duh) and hasn't quite decided on what she wants to do after school....but that's ok....I'm still trying to figure it out ;o) Just FYI, this is going to be a LONG post :o) We shot a few of Andrea's sister, Marissa too...

Cooper is an absolute doll! He was just 8 days old on the day of his first photo shoot. He wasn't really diggin' the attention (so he peed on me...lol) He slept for a split second then was wide awake and I'm sure he wanted to know what the heck was goin' on! You know he was thinkin' "umm...mom?? what's this strange lady doin' with this big black box thing??" ok ok so I don't know what a newborn is thinkin'....shutting up now!

We had the honor of capturing Christine & Will's wedding on Saturday. It was a beautiful, sunny day...although quite warm! I had a great time hanging out with the girls at Aveda downtown while they got their hair and makeup done. The ceremony was perfect and the reception was a lot of fun!

I LOVE watching a newlywed couple dancing...they're so sweet!

Possibly my favorite part of the reception. Christine reserved a special dance for her grandfather and as they waltzed around the dance floor together, it made me a tad bit teary.

These guys were naturals in front of the camera...half the time, we didn't even have to tell them what to do...it was AWESOME!

This is Brittany and Daniel. They met in high school (yay Sun Valley grads!) and are the cutest couple :o) They are getting married next May on Lake Wylie and we are honored to be their photographers. We met last Sunday for a very HOT engagement session. Amazing how it's so hot and muggy even at 7am.

Mirandia and Ross were married last Saturday in a quaint little church in the country in Rock Hill. Although the day was HOT, the wedding turned out beautifully. My favorite part of a wedding day is being able to take pictures of the Bride and Groom together (either before or after). We got a nice (yet hot) hour with the two of them after the reception. Mirandia and Ross have a pretty sweet SS Chevelle and an open field which is quite often a photographer's haven :o)

I first met Lindsay my freshman year of college when I went to Gardner Webb and we became friends pretty quickly. I only stayed there a year but we had some fun times while I was there :o) I'm thankful we managed to stay in touch! Lindsay and Brandon have been married for about a year and a half now. As with a lot of married couples, they didn't have any fun pictures of themselves since their wedding (guilty!) So we set up a session and I'm so glad cause these two are just so darn cute together :o)

I love newborns...who doesn't right?! I love the interactions of the parents with their new little one...it's priceless. I was welcomed into this sweet family's home to capture their precious little boy...because let's face it...they grow SO fast! Eli didn't want much to do with my posing but I am happy with the images I was able to capture. And I definitely didn't want to forget proud big sister, Annabelle...in all of her adorable, spunky 2 yr old self.

I had such a great time shooting Caty+David's wedding with Kristen Gilbert. It was in a beautiful vineyard in Albemarle and boy was it COLD! Danielle was such a great sport for us today. Despite the rain, she brought a radiant smile and piercing eyes. She's already married so these were just for fun but I think they turned out beautifully. We only had about 20-25 minutes off and on to shoot before the rain just wouldn't stop. For some reason, I was just diggin' black and white today but the color versions are just as great!

We had the priviledge of meeting this sweet family on Saturday for a fun little family shoot in Freedom Park on what I believe was the most humid evening I've ever encountered...ok maybe not but you get the point :) And boy do I wish I had just a 10th of the energy 15 month old Quinten has. I have been looking forward to this newborn shoot for several months. A & H entered the world just 2 weeks ago so I went over to capture their cuteness...they defiantly didn't disappoint :o) I had a really hard time narrowing down these pictures to post a sneak peek. We got a new puppy so I felt the need to share some cute pictures of him with everyone. His name is Copper and he is about 14 weeks old. These pictures were a little difficult to take because he wants to constantly be on you or beside you and I was taking them by myself. I'm actually posting this right now and he is asleep on my lap lol :o)

Last Saturday, we were delighted to be at Preston and Jen's wedding. For those who do not know...Preston is my brother and I am so happy that he has found his soulmate. We were not the official photographers but of course you can't keep us away from a camera...even while in a bridesmaid dress ;o)

We had a great time with Melanie today! She is gorgeous and really doesn't take a bad picture at all! She is sweet and very independent as she owns her own salon down in Polkton. Here are a few pics from the shoot...it was really hard to narrow them down! Enjoy!
